- Format and location: Community classroom: 100% with instructor or 50% online / 50% with instructor.
- Topics covered: This is a very thorough course which will equip you to handle the following topics with confidence: using protective equipment; safely recognizing life-threatening conditions; performing high-quality CPR; effectively using an AED; choking emergencies; sudden illnesses (shock, stroke, anaphylaxis, opioid overdose); life-threatening bleeding; heat stroke; hypothermia; burns, head, neck and spinal injuries.
- Class description: Focusing on situations involving adult victims, we will break down key concepts and go at a pace which works for all learners. We'll take the time needed to make sure all concepts are covered and there will be time to answer questions. We'll be using modern adult manikins as well as practicing with real bandage and gauze pads on simulation wounds (all equipment is provided). The course includes video content and hands-on practice. This class may require kneeling on the floor (on cushion pads) and moderate bending and movement. Please get in touch if accommodations are required,
