American Heart Association-certified course providing comprehensive training in handling emergency situations involving adults, children and infants.

  • Format and location: Blended class (50% online / 50% with instructor - watch most of the presentation videos online at your convenience then meet in class to review the topics and practice the skills).

  • Topics covered: The American Heart Association’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate breaths and ventilations, and provide early use of an AED. We will cover high-quality CPR for adults, children and infants, the Chain of Survival, effective breaths and ventilations, AED use, choking relief and effective team communication.
  • Class description: There's a lot of important information in this course so we'll break down the topics to make them approachable and understandable, and there will be opportunities to ask and answer questions. We'll be using modern adult and infant manikins as well as practicing with real bandage and gauze pads (all the required equipment is provided).
