- Certificate class?: Yes - American Red Cross certification upon completion (certificate valid two years).
- Format and location: Blended class (50% online / 50% with instructor - watch most of the presentation videos online at your convenience then meet in class to review the topics and practice the skills).
- Topics covered: This certified course will equip you to handle the following situations with confidence before 911 arrives: Using PPE; safely recognizing life-threatening conditions; performing high-quality CPR; using an AED; handling emergencies such as choking, sudden illnesses (shock, stroke, anaphylaxis, opioid overdose), life-threatening bleeding, heat stroke, hypothermia, burns and head, neck and spinal injuries.
- Class description: There's a lot of important information in this course so we'll break down the topics to make them approachable and understandable, and there will be opportunities to ask and answer questions. We'll be using modern adult and infant manikins as well as practicing with real bandage and gauze pads (all the required equipment is provided).
